Nusa Dua – a resort area of Bali

Nusa Dua is the best resort and beach in Bali. It is ideal for those people who like the sea, sand and who want to enjoy the beauty of the nature. Who only wants to swim and sunbathe and nothing else. There are no shopping centers, bars, clubs, discos, attractions and entertainment after sunset (and in the afternoon, there is no place to go).

Nusa Dua beach is located in the south of the island of Bali in the east of the Bukit peninsula. Previously, there was a small settlement, the residents grew algae. They are still growing them, only moved slightly to the south. This resort is artificial and was created by order of the authorities, who decided to build the perfect place for a relaxing holiday in Bali. And not simple, but elite, with all the modern infrastructure.

Beach and sea

The area of Nusa Dua was chosen in Bali for that purpose because it is the best beach. It is no secret that the island is a Paradise for surfers, because almost all over the coast there are high waves all year round. For some people it is good, but for other people there is no opportunity to swim.

There are three beaches on the island where you can swim in calm waters – these are Jimbaran, Sanur and Nusa Dua. The first is located near the airport. The second has a lot of buildings, and the third, Nusa Dua, was an ideal candidate. Here you can see the beautiful landscapes, calm sea, completely lacking infrastructure. The exception is the huts of the locals, but you can meet them very rarely.

The Nusa Dua beach was planned to be an ideal place for a beach holiday, where everything you need is located here, and all the excess should be located beyond the resort area for a few kilometers. What is needed for a good beach holiday? Clean beaches without garbage. Only sun loungers and parasols, 1-2 souvenir shops, a museum for lovers of the island’s history, water sports, hotels with pools, restaurants, spas, gyms, and massage salons are needed. Nusa Dua has it all.

Nusa Dua became a certain state in Bali, an isolated area intended only for swimming and sunbathing. This resort has three entrances, which are guarded. The guards check all people on motorcycles and cars. Basically, they check the Balinese, so that a merchant did not accidentally penetrate and did not spoil the rest of the tourists. Foreigners are usually not checked.

Who will appreciate Nusa Dua

Nusa Dua in Bali should be visited by anyone who wants a comfortable beach holiday on the half-empty coast and is ready to pay extra for it. There are few people here. Those who want to have a romantic getaway, for example, newlyweds, and those who want privacy during a holiday, will appreciate this place. As a rule, they do not need shopping, nightlife and discos until the morning. They prefer beautiful natural landscapes.

Families with children will enjoy staying in Nusa Dua. This is one of the few places on the island where there are absolutely no waves, your child will splash in the shallow water and you will not fear for his safety.

Who shouldn’t go to Nusa Dua

Youth and active people. They will not find something to do here and get bored of lying on the beach all the time.

Rest on the beach of Nusa Dua is not suitable for budget tourists. There are no cheap guest houses and hotels not only near the sea, but also a kilometer from it. If you want to save money, do not even consider this resort as a place of rest.

If you want to shop or get acquainted with the life of the locals, with their restaurants and cafes, you will also be disappointed. There are no ordinary Balinese houses and cafes here. To be honest, all the locals are engaged in tourism and if you want to see the traditional way of life of Balinese, you have to go deep into the island.

How to get to Nusa Dua from Denpasar airport

The resort area is located about 12 km South-East of Denpasar airport. You can get to Nusa Dua from there only by taxi. Given that not poor people go to this resort, it is better for them to take a taxi directly at the airport, and not to look for a taxi on the street.

Hotels

In Nusa Dua, there are only expensive hotels, mostly 4 and 5 stars. Cheap accommodation is completely absent. Therefore, you should not consider this area to find a cheap hotel.

But those hotels, which are presented, have the entire modern infrastructure with restaurants, bars, playgrounds, tour desk, pools, spas, etc. The rooms are spacious and there is air conditioning, hot water, TV, fridge, mini bar, hair dryer, kettle, high speed Internet. In many rooms it is possible to install an extra bed for a child, and babysitting services for babies are provided. It’s better to book hotels in Nusa Dua in advance.

How to Stay in Shape While Traveling?

Those who often travel know that sticking to the healthy habits you have at home can be a real challenge. However, it’s possible.

There are hotel gyms and healthy snacks you can pack, but there are some tricks that are time-efficient and effective for maintaining a fitness routine even far from home.

Remember, you don’t have to work out for an hour to get results. In fact, working out for a shorter period of time with a higher intensity can be even better.

Here you can find seven creative tips for staying fit on the road.

  • Use Your Bag as a Weight

When there’s no gym, use your backpack or bag as added weight. There are a lot of variations you can do here, for example overhead squats with your carry-on held over your head; and throwing the backpack on and doing push-ups.

You should put enough personal belongings in your bag to make the moves challenging.

  • Run Sprints in the Hallways

Running sprints is one of the most effective things you can do for burning fat, and they require less time and space than distance running. Find a good hallway in your hotel that allows you to sprint at least 20 yards in one direction.

  • Walk up the Stairs

Stairs are also a great option for more relaxed workout. Walk up the stairs, taking one or two steps at a time, for 30 minutes.

It’s better to start on the upper floors, where you’re less likely to bump into people, and remember that safety is the most important thing.

  • Use Your Hotel Room for Work Out

If the hotel gym is closed for renovations or doesn’t exist at all, a bodyweight workout right in your hotel room is an excellent option.

You can place a towel or yoga mat on the floor and do sets of push-ups, squats and crunches.

Be thoughtful of your neighbors. Don’t go too crazy with jump squats or burpees, especially if you’re working out early in the morning or late at night.

  • When You Arrive – Go for a Run

When arriving in a new city, you can go for a long run. You’ll get to explore your new surroundings and knock out your exercise for the day all in one shot.

Take in the sights, stop and talk to people or drop in to local shops along the way.

  • Exercise in the Airport

You can also put your downtime at the airport to good use and get a workout in while you wait for your flight.

Some airports now have gyms, or yoga rooms that are free to use.

If bodyweight workouts aren’t your thing, you can get your steps in and take a walk around the terminal. Go up and down the stairs a few times for an added challenge.

  • Lunch at Chipotle

If you’re traveling and need some quick food, it’s hard to beat Chipotle. There are thousands of locations worldwide, so it won’t be hard to find one. And the food is relatively healthy, if you make the right choices when ordering.

It’s better to stay away from burritos and tacos, as the tortillas are the largest sources of hydrogenated oils and preservatives. Stick to bowls and salads, with meat for protein and plenty of veggies. Don’t be afraid of rice, especially if you’re staying active.
