In 1995, Vrbo introduced a new way for people to travel together, pairing homeowners with families and friends looking for places to stay. Since VRBO has grown into a global community of homeowners and travelers, with unique properties in 190 countries around the world. Vrbo makes it easy and fun to book cabins, condos, beach houses and every kind of space in between.
Vrbo is part of HomeAway and the Expedia Group family of brands and offers homeowners and property managers exposure to over 750 million visits to Expedia Group sites each month.
On April 22, VRBO published the article in which it revealed top value travel destinations in “Bang for Your Buck Index”, based on average nightly rates for vacation homes domestic and international. The index is based on 2018 Vrbo pricing data.
”We already know families and groups of friends appreciate the value of renting a vacation home, but travelers want to know exactly where they can get the most for their money. So we dug into the Vrbo data to find out where homeowners are renting places out to others for the lowest average cost per night,” – said Vrbo travel expert Melanie Fish.
Vrbo’s Bang for your Buck Index identifies the destinations with the lowest average cost per night – vacation homes that cost less than $250 per night but offer prime features like proximity to beaches, a variety of dining options, ready access to outdoor recreation and more.
Domestically, five popular Florida locales rank among the top 10 most value-packed destinations. Internationally, the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) revealed surprising value.
